GROUP LIFE
Serve as a Group
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:8-10
God wants us to partner with Him in renewing His world and bringing Heaven to earth. He has prepared us with unique giftings and passions and will equip us along the way. When serving together, our efforts become beautiful offerings of love that can fill us up instead of wearing us out. We, as a family of disciples, have the opportunity to see our collective faiths in action, disciple one another, and see each other grow.
Group Service Opportunities

Showers & Meals
At PV, our 2:42 Discipling Groups serve as the front line of care during transitional or challenging life events. However, not everyone is in a 2:42 group, and sometimes, the need is too great for one group to handle.
If your small group (of any kind) would like to be contacted when a need arises, please email the office.

Lunch @ River City
River City Ministry is a faith-based nonprofit in North Little Rock dedicated to meeting basic human needs and connecting people to God through Christ-centered relationships.
Groups are invited to cook and serve a meal each Sunday afternoon for 100 of our unhoused neighbors. If your group in interested, contact Lynn Cook.

Alpha
Alpha groups meet weekly to provide a space to make connections, ask questions, or just sit and listen with people open to exploring life, faith, and meaning. Each session includes a shared meal, a short talk on an element of the Christian faith, and a chance to share perspectives.
COOK
Meaningful connections are usually made around a shared table. Contact Gary Storment or sign up here if your group would like to provide a meal for Alpha participants and volunteers.
PRAY
Alpha does not work without prayer. If your group would be willing to arrive before an Alpha gathering and pray over the space and participants, please contact Gary Storment.

Grounds Care
If your group boasts a few green thumbs or just likes to work outdoors, the PV flower beds and shrubs could use your attention.
Contact Lynn Cook for more information on what is needed this season and how/when you can help.

immerse Arkansas
Immerse works to build pathways to healing for youth in crisis by surrounding them with unconditional relationships, tools that anticipate their needs and dreams, and a vision for their restored future.
Volunteers provide homecooked meals, prepare snacks, hygiene, and grocery packs, help with schoolwork and the children of teen parents, and offer one-on-one mentorship.

Adopt a Student for Christmas
So many families in our neighborhoods need a little help around the holidays. In early December, contact a school near you and ask the counselor if there is a family or child you could bless by purchasing Christmas presents and delivering them to the school.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes
Each November, PV provides boxes for groups to fill and personally hand out to neighbors or their local schools.
Watch the church-wide emails in early November for details. All group types are welcome to participate!
